IMCS Spain is based in Santander, on the northern coast of Spain, and offers independent marine surveys and consultancy services in any location in Spain, although our main area of operations is the northern coast of Spain, with the ports of Pasajes, Bilbao, Santander, Gijón and Avilés.
The company was established in 1996 by Cpt. Francis De Lauwer and Ward De Prest took over the reins in 2012.
We have vast experience in hatch cover inspections, ultra-sonic tightness testing, cargo damage investigation and surveys, P&I and insurance surveys, cargo superintendent work, marine warranty surveys, lashing and securing of heavy lifts and project cargo, draft and bunker surveys and windmill project coordination.

Ward De Prest

Ward graduated as Master in Nautical Sciences from the Maritime Academy Antwerp in 2005 and started his career as a marine and cargo surveyor at the port of Antwerp in 2006.
He relocated to Santander in 2011, expanding the portfolio of services of IMCS Spain with cargo superintendent work as well.
Ward is member of the board of directors of IMCS Group, and fulfills the role of Secretary and Quality Manager within the organization.
Ward is full member of the Nautical Institute.
Ward is full member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying.
Guillermo Gómez Agenjo

Guillermo has a degree in Nautical Engineering and Maritime Transport at the University of Cantabria, Santander, graduated in 2016.
After fourteen months of sea-going experience, he started his career working as a marine surveyor and cargo superintendent in 2017, working in the Mediteranean ports of Spain, before joining IMCS Spain in 2019.
Álvaro Camus Gutierrez
Álvaro graduated from the University of Cantabria in Santander in 2020 with a degree in Marine Engineering. He started working at IMCS Spain in 2021.
Wendy graduated from the KHBO in Bruges in 2003 with a degree in Business Management and started her career as a travel agent, before switching to the finance sector. Based in Santander since 2011, she is now in charge of administration and accounting at IMCS Spain.
